About Gangpur

Gangpur is a vibrant village located in Palsana Taluka, Surat District, Gujarat, India. Known for its close-knit community and cultural heritage, Gangpur has been home to generations of families who proudly carry forward their traditions while embracing new opportunities around the world.

History

The story of Gangpur began in 1813, when families migrated here from Matar village in Kheda District, Gujarat. Since then, Gangpur has flourished as a village deeply rooted in agriculture and community service.

Our People

  • The majority of residents are Charotariya Leuva Patidar, a community known for hard work, unity, and progress.
  • Traditionally, almost all families were farmers, cultivating the fertile lands of the region.
  • Over time, many sons and daughters of Gangpur have migrated abroad, especially to the United States, where they are now settled across many different states while staying deeply connected to their roots.

Our Global Connection

Even though thousands of miles separate many Gangpur families today, the spirit of unity remains strong. Festivals, conventions, and gatherings—both in India and the USA—continue to strengthen ties between the village and its worldwide diaspora.
